Sunninghill Radio’s Rise and Grind, 9-11am

Hugh started broadcasting with Sunninghill Radio on New Year’s Eve 2022. Having been bitten by the DJ bug, he became the Breakfast Show presenter on Rise & Grind. During his time on Sunninghill Radio, he has also presented one off special shows in the late night slot, with more to come. He is a huge fan of most sports and enjoys the beer and banter that comes with it. 

All About 80s, 11am-12pm

Mike Striker has been a familiar voice on Sunninghill Radio since April 2021, producing and presenting the popular All About 80s show. Each week he brings listeners a mix of classic hits, forgotten favourites and specialist features including Top of the Pops, Extended 80s and Last Orders.

Away from his own show, Mike has become one of the station’s trusted presenters, covering many programmes over the years, including the Breakfast Show and providing interim for the Afternoon Choons slot.

From 2022 to 2024, Mike also produced and presented Manic Mondays on EXT Radio in London, further developing his passion for entertaining audiences. 

A lifelong radio enthusiast, Mike believes great radio is all about personality, great music and connecting with listeners. As Mike prepares to leave Sunninghill Radio at the end of August 2026 following more than five years on air, he’ll be looking for new broadcasting opportunities in his new hometown of Brighton, where he hopes to continue sharing his love of music and radio with a new audience.

Saturday Lunch, 12-2pm and Saturday Night at the Musicals, 7-8pm

Matthew Down has been on the presenting team at Sunninghill Radio since October 2021. Over the years has presented Sunninghill Radio Breakfast, The Twilight Hour, Afternoon Choons, our Evening Party and (most recently) Saturday Lunch & Sunninghill Radio’s Saturday Night At The Musicals! Not forgetting his 12 hour marathon for charity in August 2022. Outside of radio, Matthew loves singing and musical theatre! 🎭

Jackson Sanders on Saturday, 2-5pm

Jackson is one of the founders of Sunninghill Radio, though that doesn't stop him prattling on every Saturday between 2 and 5. "To me, radio is amazing because I can be talking to a few members of the team, suddenly press a button and then I'm talking to the nation" he says. "There's something very intimate and cosy about that". Jackson describes his music taste as "anything and everything really", but he does like playing a bit of underrated yacht rock and soft rock from the 70s and 80s, "just anything not too cheesy" is his main request. Outside of radio, his passions include music, transport and (very) amateur drama.

The Love Groove Show, 8-10pm

Dave, one of the co-founders of Sunninghill Radio, was part of the original Acid house generation especially through the 90s. He played out across the famous Birmingham clubs Miss Moneypenny’s & Chufff Chuff, London clubs like Malibu Stacy's, and his own self-formed club nights: Colour of Love, Cheeky Monkey and the infamous boat party 'Float' on the River Thames. One of his proudest moments was playing at the opening of the Tibetan peace gardens at the War Museum in London that was opened by the Dalai Lama in 1999.

Dave has played a mixed bag of sounds from Global Jazz to Drum and Bass to House and Tech House. You can catch him on Saturday nights from 8-10 playing a summery soulful global groove

on the Love Groove Show.

Relatively new to radio presenting in general, Sam is a no-nonsense, down to earth and authentic presenter, and a music lover willing to challenge your musical tastes as well as his own (with varying results!). Willing to play just about anything you can think of, as well as plenty you won’t have heard before, with plenty of straight-faced sarcastic undertones to go with it. No forced showbiz hype with this one! Sam describes his music taste as “anything, as long as it sounds good”, and he himself listens to a wide variety of genres, from alternative 80s and modern synthpop to indie and classic rock. Also a travel and sports fan, Sam will always have plenty to catch you up on.

Araan is also one of the co-founders of Sunninghill Radio and having left his regular show in 2024, he still pops up wherever needed to cover other presenters. Araan loves all things mainstream pop particularly from decades such as the 80s, 10s as well as songs from musicals and what's in the charts now. Other than radio, he loves all things film & tv as well as reading a good thriller novel. In the summer he is known to enjoy cycling, baking and cooking. Finally, he is passionate about neurodivergence, being autistic himself and currently in the process of completing his Bachelor's degree in Psychology.

Louis Hayes a.k.a. Kid H joined the Sunninghill Radio team in June 2021, covering "All About 80s" for Mike Striker. He began presenting his own weekly show "Timeless Tunes" in September of that year, which ran for three years until August 2024. He is currently studying on the BA Actor Musicianship course at Rose Bruford College, but still enjoys covering for his fellow DJs between term times. His favourite artists include Radiohead, The Divine Comedy, Erasure, Kate Bush, Björk, Eels, Elbow, and The Lightning Seeds to name just a few. Get Kid H on the decks, and you're bound to hear at least one of those artists invading the airwaves!
